Cosmic Corals by Shereif Eldesouky
Cosmic Corals by Shereif Eldesouky is a surreal mixed-media exhibition that ran at Bangkok 1899 from September 20 to November 15, 2025. Eldesouky, an Egyptian artist based in Bangkok, uses coral reefs as a metaphor for memory, sibling bonds, and resilience.
The work reflects Eldesouky's distinctive process of painting, dismantling, and reassembling his own pieces, mirroring the way coral reefs grow, fracture, and regenerate, and the way memory itself is built, broken down, and reconstructed over time.
The exhibition closed with a workshop tied to Bangkok 1899's 2025 participation in Galleries' Nights, extending its themes of resilience and regeneration to a citywide audience.
