OUR WORK
ART & CULTURE

Through artist residencies, artist-led programs, and creative collaborations, we support artists to expand climate narratives and reimagine futures through culture. These projects activate creative practice and imagination while connecting artists with communities, knowledge, and networks. Together, they open space for new ways of understanding and responding to climate change.

KNOWLEDGE SHARING

Through research, publications, tools and training, we generate and share knowledge that helps artists and cultural institutions engage with climate challenges. Our programs connect creative practice with learning, data and collective exchange. This work strengthens the cultural sector’s capacity to adapt, collaborate and act.

COMMUNITY BUILDING

Through cross-border networks, memberships, convenings and public programs, we bring together artists, cultural leaders and communities working at the intersection of culture and climate. These spaces build & strengthen relationships, collaboration and mutual support across regions and disciplines. By strengthening these connections, we help build resilient cultural ecosystems.

WHY IT MATTERS

The climate crisis is not only an environmental emergency but also a cultural and relational one.

Artists, cultural workers and communities across the world face increasing precarity, burnout and uneven access to climate knowledge, tools and resources.

These conditions weaken the cultural ecosystems needed to sustain long-term climate adaptation and limit who is able to participate meaningfully in climate action.

Global climate responses often overlook the role of culture in shaping relationships, narratives and collective capacity for change.

Climate tools and strategies are frequently developed without grounding in lived experience, particularly those of the Global Majority, resulting in extractive knowledge flows and solutions that fail to take root across diverse contexts.

While artists and cultural workers hold critical insights, creative strategies and community-based knowledge for climate adaptation, they often lack the supportive infrastructure, networks and resources needed to sustain their work and translate it into systemic impact.
