Culture Global Stocktake
On April 13, 2026, Creative Migration co-organized California's first Policy Forum on the Culture Global Stocktake, held at the Thai Community Development Center (Thai CDC) in Los Angeles as part of LA Climate Week 2026. The half-day forum brought together a diverse cohort of artists, designers, cultural producers, community organizers, consultants, and academics for structured dialogue and policy work.
Following the delivery of the first public draft of the Culture Global Stocktake for Climate Action, the forum stress-tested its emerging recommendations and worked toward practical pathways for embedding culture across climate mitigation, adaptation, Action for Climate Empowerment (ACE), and climate finance agendas. Co-organized with the Entertainment + Culture Pavilion, the session engaged participants on funding models, industry accountability, green space, indigenous wisdom, storytelling, and community repair — covering themes including artist stipend models and multi-year community funding, nature access as mental-health infrastructure, joy and cultural belonging as tools for climate resilience, and the role of younger generations and community spaces in building civic hope.
