VVFA (Very Very Far Away)
VVFA (Very Very Far Away) is an international, collaborative project initiated in 2015 by artist Jasmin Blasco together with Andrew Friend and Sitraka Rakotoniaina, working across podcast, spatial installation, and performance. Recorded in Los Angeles and London, it charts a journey into an imagined future.
Each episode portrays a specific event, situation, or individual operating within that speculative future, using space exploration as a lens to examine and critique the collective idealism and aspirations attached to emerging technology, and the impact these may have on future society.
Creative Migration has facilitated related live presentations of Blasco's work, including Welcome to You, a guided meditation and performance built on the narrative framework of Blasco's companion project The First Human Born In Space, performed at Baert Gallery and Tappan Atelier.
