Lab XL

Lab XL is a peer exchange between cultural producers and leaders at Creative Migration/Bangkok 1899 and Artsadmin (UK), building on their British Council-supported Lab X collaboration in 2024. While Lab X centered artist development, Lab XL shifts the focus to the leadership practices, systems and values that sustain socially engaged cultural work.

Led by Susannah Tantemsapya (Creative Migration) and Raidene Carter (Artsadmin), the exchange unfolds across two cities: Susannah travels to London during Climate Action Week in June 2026, and Raidene visits Thailand during Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026. In both locations, the partners host and contribute to public events, sector dinners, artist-led discussions and workshops, exploring culture, care, decolonization and climate justice as lived practice.

Lab XL asks how gender-informed leadership, climate justice and care intersect in cultural production, and how those perspectives can help build more sustainable and equitable creative ecosystems in both the UK and Thailand.
